Over 400 climbers are granted permits to climb Mount Everest

The Department of Tourism in Nepal reports that 402 climbers from 53 countries, together with 74 women, obtained permits to scale Mt. Everest this spring as of April 27. The Department of Tourism has authorized forty-one expeditions while collecting Rs 684 million through royalty payments. A field office operates at Everest Base Camp to guarantee safe climbing activities. The number of climbers who have scaled Everest keeps increasing, as more than 8,000 people have reached the summit throughout history. This season, Tashi Gyaljen Sherpa plans to establish a new record by ascending Everest four times within 20 consecutive days.
