Sagarmatha Sambaad Ends With The Urgent Call to Save The Mountains

sagarmatha sambaad

The initial Sagarmatha Sambaad drew to a close in Kathmandu, following which the 25-point Sagarmatha Call for Action was passed to motivate all countries to pay closer attention to mountain regions amid global warming. It emphasized glacier retreat, the justice behind climate change, and promoted stronger global cooperation, greener technology use, and financial aid to those endangered by nature. While international experts commended the way countries were speaking, they also noted it would be difficult to execute the promises made. It was noted by some experts that migration driven by climate change was not given sufficient attention. Nepal dreams to introduce the declaration to the world at important international platforms, as Sambaad is only held every six years.
