Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has appointed Dr. Deepak Aryal as the new Vice-Chancellor of Tribhuvan University. Aryal was selected from three candidates recommended by the Education Minister, Raghuji Panta. The position fell open when the previous Chancellor Keshar Jung Baral resigned in March, accusing political interference and unsupportiveness. Following the resignation of Baral, Acting Chancellor Khadga KC was holding its fort temporarily.
