At least 30 people have died due to heavy rainfall and flooding in Beijing, China’s capital city. Most were in northern mountainous areas, with 28 deaths in Miyun District and 2 deaths in Yanqing District. More than 80,000 residents from flood-damaged areas have been relocated to safe areas. Chinese President Xi Jinping ordered extensive rescue and disaster assistance.
