Terence Stamp a renowned English actor known for his role as General Judd in the Superman films has died at age 87 His career spanned more than six decades with notable performances in The Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert Valkyrie and The Collector BAFTA highlighted his contributions and he received two Oscar nominations in 1963 and 1995 Stamp was born in East Stepney London in 1938 He began in advertising before drama school and later earned acclaimed roles including Freddy Clegg in The Collector and Sergeant Troy in Far From the Madding Crowd
