The continuous rain has led to several landslides, blocking the Karnali Highway and the Narayangadh-Muglin road at Tuinkhola, Chitwan, thus stranding numerous vehicles and passengers. The government is hiring excavators and arriving with more equipment to clear the mess, yet the government officials say that it may take hours to clear the roads completely. Meanwhile, a landslide near Ghopte Bhir has narrowed the Prithvi Highway down to a single lane and traffic has once again resumed on the Narayangadh-Muglin route on the Namsi River side following a clearance.
