Durga Prasai, a medical entrepreneur, medical activist, and monarchist, has also been arrested in his home in Bhaktapur in relation to his planned nationwide protest on November 23 due to allegations of attempting to disrupt the peace and stability of the people. He announced a mass rally in Kathmandu against republicanism and corruption. He had asserted that he would take more than 1.5 million to rise against Republicanism, federalism, and secularism. The interim government justified the arrest as an opportunity to avert any potential violence and instability. Prasai has also made criticisms regarding the political figures, banks, and government because of their corruption and exploitation of citizens.
