The development of the Alia MV250 military cargo drone is being sped up by Beta Technologies, with the first flight now expected later this year. It has the capability to take off vertically like a helicopter and has the capacity to carry up to 2,000 pounds of cargo. It is stepping up its commitment to defense programs while at the same time stepping up production of its commercial planes. In addition, the Federal Aviation Administration has selected the company’s planes and charging systems for several programs aimed at integrating electric air taxis and drones into the US aviation system.
