For his alleged role in the deadly crackdown during the September 8 and 9 Gen Z protests in New Baneshwar, where minors were killed, former Kathmandu Chief District Officer Chhabilal Rijal has been arrested from his home. A probe led by Gauribahadur Karki had named Rijal as responsible and recommended action. Following the report, former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and then Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak had already been arrested earlier.
