Super Micro Begins Independent Probe After Criminal Case Against Co‑Founder

super micro begins independent probe

Super Micro Computer has initiated an independent investigation in light of three individuals who are affiliated with the company being charged by the Department of Justice of the United States for their involvement in violations of export controls. The defendants named include the co-founder Yih-Shyan Liaw, the sales manager Ruei-Tsang Chang, and the contractor Ting-Wei Sun. It is claimed that the servers manufactured in the U.S. had been diverted via Taiwan and Southeast Asian countries before reaching China. Although Super Micro itself was not charged with any wrongdoing, it put two of its employees on leave and dismissed the other one from his job, as well as declared that Yih-Shyan Liaw had quit from the Board of Directors.
