Both parties have been engaging in heavy attacks, killing and maiming several soldiers and civilians in a situation where air strikes and the use of rockets are being applied to destabilise the other. Cambodia even withdrew from the Southeast Asian Games due to safety issues. The previous ceasefire, which the U.S. forced, has failed, and Donald Trump claims to attempt to restore both sides to peace. However, tension is still high, and the evacuees are suffering, as the war is not over.
