Due to an alleged incident where Ramesh Lekhak, Home Minister of Nepal, and immigration officers illegally took money from Nepali visit visa holders, the United States has begun screening Nepali visa applicants with more attention. Investigators from the CIAA are looking into a racket that is said to have gathered more than Rs 5 million every day by working together at the Tribhuvan International Airport. The U.S. Embassy in Kathmandu has revealed that no visa will be given until proper security checks have been done for U.S. safety.
