TIA begins operations 18 hours a day after a 5-month construction period.

Tribhuvan International Airport Runway

Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) has been operating 18 hours a day, from 6:00 am to 12:00 am, after a five-month (November 8 to March 31) physical shutdown for new infrastructural upgrades. The airport is now undergoing construction on a parallel taxiway, an international apron, and a hangar apron as part of the Rs 15 billion Air Traffic Capacity Enhancement Project. While the project is 90% done, the remaining 1.5 years are going to be critical to complete it. The taxiway link is now complete; the taxiway is now connected to the runway, and the parallel taxiway is still under construction.
