Kathmandu Metropolis carried out cervical cancer screening, in which 126 women were found positive for human papillomavirus(HPV) infection. A total of 2,564 samples were tested by Kathmandu Metropolis. Among the 126 infected women, 28 were infected with HPV types 16 and 18. The HPV types are majorly responsible for 70 percent of cervical cancer of most women.
