A gas cylinder explosion took place at the Shandar Momo, Kamalpokhari around 8:45 AM this morning, leaving 14 people injured. The victims were the resturant’s employees, said Senior Superintendent of Police Shekhar Khanal, the Kathmandu Valley Police spokesman. Of those injured, 11 were hospitalized and three were said to be in stable condition.
Five of the injured have been taken to the Burn Hospital in Kirtipur for further treatment. The ceiling of the building collapsed due to the explosion. Nepal Police’s Disaster Management Team and the Maligaun Police Team are involved in the rescue at the site, and search operations are being conducted.
