World leaders turn down Trump’s idea to own Gaza

Trump's idea to turn gaza

A proposal by President Donald Trump’s idea to own Gaza, relocate 2 million Palestinians, and turn the territory into a Mediterranean resort drew sharp international criticism. Allies and enemies, including Saudi Arabia, China, Germany, and Britain, stressed their support for a two-state solution between Israel and Palestine and criticized the idea.

Palestinian leaders, including President Mahmoud Abbas and Hamas, denounced such a notion as a breach of international law. The United Nations also opposed the proposal, with the Secretary-General stressing the need to prevent ethnic cleansing and to respect self-determination rights. Trump, though, expected countries such as Egypt and Jordan to support his plan eventually.
