From June 29, all jeep safari services within Chitwan National Park will be halted because the roads become muddy and flooded during the monsoons, posing a significant danger to jeeps passing through. The safaris are likely to begin again in mid-September, depending on the weather and road repairs. Whereas safaris within the core of the park will be suspended, jeep tours in the community forests in the buffer zone, and other activities such as trekking and even the crocodile breeding center will not be discontinued. Park officials claim that wildlife protection is a major factor in the closure, and it is a norm in national parks across the world in the months of monsoon.
