A 39-year-old woman died in Ilam due to COVID-19, becoming the first death related to the coronavirus infection in Nepal since the pandemic was declared over. She died on Tuesday morning at the Nobel Teaching Hospital in Biratnagar after she was sent there by Birtacity Hospital to treat her fever and difficulties in breathing. Her demise coincides with a minor increase in the COVID cases in the Koshi Province, as eight active cases of the virus are currently being reported in Jhapa, Morang, and Ilam.
