Government Seeks Neighbours’ Support to Set March 5 House Elections in Motion

Nepal is preparing to invoke the help of India and China in the upcoming March 5 elections, primarily to bring election supplies through vehicles. The necessity has increased following the hundreds of security vehicles that have been damaged during the recent protests. The government has already set aside over Rs1.27 billion to acquire 251 new vehicles, and the Election Commission has budgeted Rs7.8 billion to manage the elections and intends to employ temporary police to secure the election.
