Nine individuals, among them four of Indian nationality, have been arrested by Sarlahi Police over the theft of transformers throughout the district. These arrests were carried out through Operation Charlie after 17 transformers were stolen, which were used in agriculture. More than 100 kg of stolen copper wire, a set of tools, and two electrically powered rickshaws were recovered by police. Some of the suspects have criminal backgrounds, and one of them is claimed to have operated a metal company where stolen copper metals were melted and sold off. The Sarlahi District Court has given police an additional seven days to carry out further investigation of the suspects.
