The Black Friday online shopping in the U.S., driven by AI powered shopping assistants, led to twice the highest amount of money spent by shoppers, totaling 11.8 billion USD, 9.1% more than 2024 online sales. Traffic grew more than 800% AI powered and assisted consumers to shop around and get deals as prices soared, and rising costs and tariff related price hikes were witnessed. The most popular products were LEGO sets, Pokémon cards, consoles, and Apple products. There was AI usage affecting more than 14.2 billion USD in sales and 3 billion USD in the U.S. Shoppers purchased less, although there was an increase in spending with more prices and flat discounts. An increase in tariffs and increased consumption by the high income earners also increased the average selling prices. The solid start preconditions an expected sales growth of one hundred and forty two billion during Cyber Monday.
