This decision has come after some legal cases that ended in favor of their opponents. These decisions forced Google and Meta Platforms to pay fines because of accusations that websites and apps like YouTube and Instagram caused harm to the psychological wellbeing of their young users. More than thousands of lawsuits have been filed against these tech giants in California.
