Multiple flights in India have been experiencing several major problems in recent times, casting doubt on their safety. A flight to Mumbai on Air India that began in San Francisco was forced to land in Kolkata after its engines developed some problems, after which the passengers got off the aircraft. Four Boeing planes, two of which belonged to Air India and two to Air India Express, as well as the flights by British Airways and Lufthansa, had to be diverted or turned back in the airway in the last two days because of technical faults or threats.

On a different occasion, a Saudi Airlines plane that was transporting Hajj pilgrims smoked on landing in Lucknow but was handled safely. Also, people on an Air India Express flight (Dubai to Jaipur) didn’t receive air conditioning or even water throughout the more than five-hour flight, leading to an outburst of visibly angry people after a video showing the incident happened to go viral online.
