Apple introduced the iPhone 16e, its new entry-level model, priced at $600. That’s a 40% increase over the prior iPhone SE, but more budget-friendly than the $800 iPhone 16. Along with a more powerful battery and camera, the 16e has enhanced AI features such as text summarization, on-the-fly emojis, and an upgraded Siri.
It also has a 6.1-inch screen, facial recognition, and no home button. Though it focuses on affordability, Apple does not want to undermine the sales of its premium models. The iPhone 16e is scheduled for release on Feb. 28, and pre-orders begin Friday.
