Apple plans to manufacture the entire iPhone 17 family in India for the US market from the outset. Production is reported to be underway across five India-based factories, including facilities operated by the Tata Group and Foxconn. The move aims to cut tariffs on Chinese models and reduce dependence on China. Tata Group is said to hold about half of India-based iPhone production. This marks the first time new iPhone models will be shipped from India to the US from launch.
