The Hindu festival Bada Dashain (Navaratri) starts today with Ghatasthapana, where people worship Goddess Shailaputri and plant seeds of maize and barley on Jamara. During the days, devotees will worship various images of Goddess Durga, and Jamara germination rituals will be done.
