Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Mayor Balen Shah expressed gratitude to the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) on Tuesday for cleaning the Balkhu area following an awareness meeting. Shah added that KMC is not here to punish but would also support initiatives like that from RPP to ensure public places remain clean. He thanked the RPP for its action in a post on Facebook and added that everyone should avoid littering. The development came after KMC recently slapped RPP with a fine of Rs 100,000 for dumping garbage onto the road, and its chairman, Rajendra Lingden, had taken a jibe at Mayor Shah over the issue.
