A massive flood surged in the Lehende River (Bhotekoshi), which entered Nepal via Tibet, damaging over 10 hydropower projects in Rasuwa and Nuwakot, mostly the 111-MW major Rasuwagadhi projects, where the dam and key infrastructure were washed away. Also, 250 MW of power generation was stopped, and construction was stalled on 350 MW of projects because of the flood. The power supply was interrupted, and several substations and transmission lines were destroyed, resulting in massive financial losses during both daytime and nighttime.
The under-construction dry port in Timure was also destroyed by the disaster, besides sweeping away 64 vehicles, including cargo and electric trucks. The Nepal-China border bridge, named Miteri Bridge, also fell into the water, cutting off trade routes with the potential for huge economic loss. Seven people have died and 19 are missing so far.
