Nepal will now provide health insurance services using the national identity card after an agreement between the Health Insurance Board and the Department of National ID and Civil Registration. This system will digitally verify citizens using their ID numbers, making the process faster, safer, and more reliable. Registration and renewal through the national ID will start from April 8, and currently about 10.2 million people are already enrolled in the health insurance program.
