India launched Operation Sindoor in response to the Pahalgam attack that killed 26 people, including a Nepali, aiming to eliminate key leaders of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). There was a coordinated tri-service strike targeting nine terrorist sites, among which five were in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and four were in Bahawalpur, Muridke, and Saikot, Pakistan. It avoided Pakistani military facilities and was explained as “measured, focused, and non-escalatory.” Massive explosions and civilian panic were shown in videos online.
