Some Indian experts support Nepal’s pro-monarchy and pro-Hindu movements. But India has said it has no role in it. During a meeting in New Delhi, Indian Minister S. Jaishankar told Nepal’s Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba that India is not involved. She asked him if the claims were true, and he strongly denied them. Indian Ambassador Naveen Srivastava also told Nepal’s leaders the same.
Deuba and Jaishankar also discussed hydropower projects and trade issues. Jaishankar said India is working to remove trade barriers. Deuba also met US and Ukrainian officials. She asked for help to release Nepali citizens held in Hamas and Ukraine. Ukraine promised to follow legal steps for their release. Nepal and Ukraine signed a visa-free agreement for diplomats. Deuba spoke about climate change at the Raisina Dialogue, urging global action.
