On March 5, 2025, nine citizens of Nepal were deported from the United States and brought to Kathmandu. A regular flight brought one of them in, while eight arrived on a chartered airplane. Their passports were checked by immigration officers upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport and then turned over to the Human Trafficking Investigation Bureau of the Nepal Police for additional interrogation. This makes 37 Nepalese deported from the United States in total. Some may have been trafficked, and authorities are looking into how they got to the United States. Concerns have been raised by the growing number of deportations.
