It is reported that LinkedIn dismissed 281 people in California because of Microsoft’s company-wide reductions, which affected about 6,000 people. Both engineering, AI, infrastructure, and design positions at offices in Mountain View, San Francisco, Sunnyvale, Carpinteria, and remote locations are involved. About a year ago, LinkedIn laid off 716 employees. According to Satya Nadella, Microsoft’s CEO, AI now writes 30% of the company’s code, which means there is less need for people to do this task. The company has not provided any official statements about severance or what may happen.
