A man was arrested in Banke for extortion while pretending to be Indian gangster Lawrence Bishnoi

Banke police have arrested a 41-year-old man, Ram Bahadur Budhakshetri, for threatening people and demanding ransom through social media by impersonating Indian gangsters Lawrence and Anmol Bishnoi. He contacted them through WhatsApp with an overseas mobile number and threatened serious consequences if they didn’t pay him INR 50 million. It is revealed that Budhakshetri, who hails from Surkhet, had been a criminal involved in human trafficking, extortion, kidnapping, and murder. He had previously done time for shooting a victim and had connections to various criminal groups. His phone has been confiscated by police, who are carrying out the investigation.
