According to the Department of Foreign Employment, 70,503 people received work permits to go abroad for jobs between mid January and mid February, including over 62,000 men and 8,000 women. Many were first time workers, and most of them went to the Gulf countries. More than 661,000 people left the country for foreign employment in the first seven months of the current fiscal year.
