Nepal protests the reopening of Lipulekh Kalapani and Limpiyadhura routes as India and China resume traditional border trade discussions. Nepal says these areas are Nepali territory and has repeatedly demanded consent before any bilateral use. Nepal’s constitution shows Limpiyadhura, Lipulekh and Kalapani on its map east of the Mahakali River. The years 1954, 1991, 1992, 2005, 2014, and 2015 agreements are cited as expanding Lipulekh activities without Nepali consultation.
