The dreams of winning a major title in women’s football for Nepal were dashed by Myanmar, who beat Nepal 2-0 in the final Four Nations International Women’s Championship at Dasharath Stadium in Kathmandu. Nepal dominated the first half but could not make their chances count. Myanmar netted twice in ruthless succession in the second half: Yu Per Khine’s individual goal in the 62nd minute and Win Theingi Tun’s free-kick in the 64th minute.
Nepal had a few chances, including a near-miss from Rashmi Kumari, but Myanmar held the defense. This is Nepal’s 13th loss in the finals of international competitions.
