Rajunath Pandey, the suspended chief of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Police, submitted a writ petition against the six-month suspension imposed on him by the chief administrative officer of KMC, Saroj Guragain, at the Patan High Court on June 8. On June 10, the court conducted a pre-hearing session, and on June 12, it ordered both parties to engage in discussion on the point of taking an interim order.
Pandey has made KMC Mayor Balen Shah, Deputy Mayor Sunita Dangol, Guragain, acting KMC Police Chief Bishnu Joshi, and the Municipal Executive Office respondents. The suspension was after learning that Pandey had interfered with the entry of Guragain into his office on April 3.
