Minister for Energy and Urban Development Kulman Ghising has proposed running electric trolley buses on major roads in Nepal. He negotiated with the Asian Development Bank (ADB), where they were to be supported in the plan through the sustainable urban electric project. The proposal will consist of 250 electric buses of large size, charging stations, and maintenance centers, as well as other infrastructure. It is undergoing a feasibility study, and the cost of the project is anticipated to be close to USD 160 million (approximately NPR 22.56 billion).
