The rural municipality in Achham has accused Road Board Nepal (RBN) of charging a10 percent commission to release funds meant for road maintenance. The news is raising concerns in the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport. The Dhakari Rural Municipality has already refused the Rs. 1.08 million allocated to fix the road, citing that it would create problems due to the alleged payment of commission. The officials from Road Board Nepal and the MoPIT take the issue seriously. However, they could not proceed further with addressing the issue because they did not get information regarding which employee is involved in charging the commission. The Road Board has promised to further look into the issue.
