To secure its market in the foldable phone market, Samsung has introduced its first multifolding phone, the Galaxy Z TriFold. The phone costs approximately $2,440 and has three panels that unlock to a 10 inch display. It will initially be sold in South Korea on December 12, China, Singapore, Taiwan, and the UAE, and will be launched in the U.S. early next year. Samsung considers the TriFold as a specialty product that the interested customers would buy, rather than a device that is marketed to the mass market. With high prices and difficulties in production, analysts believe that foldable phones will continue to be a small market, at least in the near future, as Huawei and Apple intensify competition.
