South Korean President Lee Jae Myung and Italian Prime Minister Giorgio Meloni agreed to strengthen their cooperation in areas such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors, aerospace and critical minerals during talks in South Korea. The two leaders also touched upon the topic of joint research collaborations and exchange of culture and tourism and agreed on support for denuclearization in the Korean Peninsula. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s visit to South Korea is the first visit by an Italian prime minister in the last 19 years.
