In the East-West Highway, the Butwal-Narayanghat stretch is blocked following a bout of heavy rain that swept down the main road as well as the diversion route at Dumkibas. Traffic had used a temporary embankment following a bridge collapse, but this was also washed away by the floodwaters. There were no other viable paths as a secondary inner road leading through the Hongshi Gate, and Jyamire was also closed because of a flooding stream. On both sides of the Dumkibas-Daunne stretch, travelers are stuck without any definite time on when repairs can be carried out and the road opened up due to the ongoing monsoon rains.
