On September 9, during the Gen-Z movement, a fire destroyed the Ministry of Education building at Singha Durbar, and operations were temporarily relocated to Keshar Mahal in Lainchaur. It has been offering services from the new location, where the incoming Education Minister, Mahabir Pun, is set to assume office after being sworn in and officially handed over.
