Due to public transport workers going on strike, the National Federation of Nepal Transport Entrepreneurs caused the nation to face two days of hardship. It was a response to the Gandaki government’s recently introduced policies for ride-hailing drivers, which were adopted on May 15, 2025.
People supporting consumer rights claimed that the government was backing transport syndicates and did not care about laws or the well-being of citizens. Ultimately, the Gandaki government agreed to suspend the law for a month to facilitate further discussions on the matter.
