According to the Department of Immigration in Nepal, the US is deporting 37 Nepali nationals (35 men and 2 women) on a chartered flight today. More than 200 Nepalis have been deported since January 2025, amidst a tougher policy by President Trump on undocumented immigrants. The majority had smuggled their way into the US. Recently, ICE has stepped up enforcement against people with impending deportation orders, and Nepalis are not the only nationality targeted by deportation.
