Police re-entered Amala Roka over a 60-kg gold smuggling case only moments after she was granted bail by the Kathmandu District Court on the condition that she submit her bond of Rs 200,000. The department of Money laundering investigation sought the re-arrest. Roka is the wife of the chief accused, Dawa Chhiring; she ran away 1.5 years before she got caught in Tokha. She was also placed under an arrest notice by INTERPOL. She is among 29 individuals facing any charge in the case of gold smuggled in brake shoes recovered at the Tribhuvan International Airport last July in 2023.
