Insurance Claims Reach Rs 22.26 Billion

The damages caused during the Gen-Z protests on September 8 and 9 have been iced at claims amounting to 22.26 billion to insurance companies in Nepal, primarily involving arson and property demolition. The highest figures were recorded in Bagmati Province, where 17.98 billion was claimed and 1343 applications received. Overall, 2,478 claims were registered in 18 insurers, with Oriental (Rs 5.23 billion) and Siddhartha (Rs 5.08 billion) leading. The claims include property, motor, engineering and transport among others, and the number is likely to increase even more.
