Govt Enforces E Commerce Directive 2026 to Streamline Online Businesses

The government has made it compulsory for all online businesses to register under the new E commerce Directive 2026 to better regulate the growing digital market. Companies must submit documents such as their registration certificate, PAN, domain details, privacy policy, and cybersecurity report through the government’s online portal. Existing platforms have seven days to comply or face legal action. The rules also require businesses to use Nepal Rastra Bank approved digital payment systems, protect customer data, report security breaches, and address consumer complaints through a formal system.
