A young man was arrested on the charge of making and selling obscene material during a video call.

Ramesh Thapa, a 29-year-old who lives in Kathmandu, has been arrested by police because of his production and selling of obscene videos of women by using video calls. Originally belonging to Surkhet, Thapa, living in Tokha, was reported to be performing perverse acts on females by using social media, filming them, and selling them to the Nepali and foreign markets. He was detained on Friday and is being probed under Section 121 of the Civil Code, which comprises a penalty of up to one year imprisonment or up to Rs 10,000 as a fine or both.
